Song of the Week

There was a constant interplay between excitement and sadness as I was on my way to the final Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part 2. Those who have watched it already, will know what I mean when I say that it is definitely the best one of the whole series. There is a huge “What the fudge” moment in the movie that leaves you speechless, but then comes the biggest gem of them all…and this gem is made perfect by the following song…a moment that left me with tears in my eyes and hope in my heart.

A Thousand Years by Christina Perri [from elyrics.net]

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid
To fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

I have died everyday
waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

Time stands still
beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything
Take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath,
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

I have died everyday
Waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

I have died everyday
Waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t be afraid,
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I’ll love you for a
Thousand more
