Golden Globes 2013 Fashion

The real reason that we, as women, love the award season is not because of the awards themselves but all the beautiful dresses and ball gowns we get to see. This Golden Globes however, truly exceeded my expectations in terms of the fashion on the red carpet. It was almost impossible choosing a best dressed for this year as most of the ladies were dressed to perfection. But, unfortunately, celebs are human still, so lets start off with the “not so hot” award of the night.

Fined!

Halle Berry

This dress is all kinds of wrongs, showing too much skin and ultimately coming off as tacky instead of red carpet glamour. Disappointing for such a huge star.

Jessica Chastain

This dress is pulling everything down and making her look saggy. Combined with the hairstyle and it becomes a recipe for disaster. Such a beautiful lady can surely make some heads turn…time to step it up!

On the Fence

So I am on the fence about these 2 outfits, not sure whether to love it or hate it and here is why:

Amanda Seyfried

The dress and the detail on the dress is beautiful, but the colour is not flattering on this celeb and makes her look pale. Other celeb other day?

Anne Hathaway

She looked elegant, effortless and refreshing, but the top of the dress was ill-fitting. It was too loose at the chest area and didn’t fit properly. Change that and she would go from a maybe to a best dressed.

Hollywood Glam

Looking through these photos will show you why this red carpet kept me on the edge of my seat!

Amy Adams

This romantic, light, fairy tale dress complimented Amy’s skin tone and made her look like royalty on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lopez

Miss JLo proved again why she is known as one of the sexiest ladies on earth.

Hayden Panettiere

This dress is soft and simple, complimenting her age and keeping things elegant.

Taylor Swift

Nominated by Joan Rivers as best dressed of the night. Do I even have to say anything?

Jennifer Lawrence

A lot of people had opposite opinions about this dress, but to me she looked stunning in red.

Lucy Liu

This is a dress that I would never  love or even look at in a store, but Lucy pulled it off. She brought fun to the carpet and took a fashion risk that I believe paid off.

Nicole Kidman

Wearing Alexander McQueen, she looked picture perfect. Elegant, sophisticated and hollywood star…these are the words that come to mind.

Sofia Vergara

This sparkly black dress made Sofia stand out in the crowd. Big thumbs up for the hair, makeup and jewellery that she combined it with.

And the best dressed of the night is…

Kate Hudson

Seeing this dress on the red carpet and how it flows as she walks, was breathtaking. Kate was a goddess on the carpet wearing Alexander McQueen. I was stunned and full of awe, making this my number 1 of the night.

Trends Spotted

My favourite part about travelling is spotting all the new trends that are starting to emerge and this trip was no different. I had a few encounters where people caught me staring but as they say, this is all in the name (and love) of fashion. So get those wallets and walking shoes ready…it’s time to go shopping!

Draw the line

Polka dot who? Stripes are here now and whether you do so in black and white or go for the brighter choice, you’ll be on the top of your fashion game wearing this trend.

Paradise

We love and dream about paradise all our lives so why not wear it? Bold prints are creeping their heads out of hiding and filling our hearts, preparing us for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic games in paradise city: Rio de Janeiro.

Let’s do the twist

This trend I am quite excited about! The high waisted vintage skirts and dresses. This is a fun trend to wear and will fit perfectly for your dancing night out in the town.

Natural Beauty

“The best thing is to look natural, but it takes makeup to look natural.” This quote by Calvin Klein describes the natural beauty trend perfectly. Natural looking Makeup is a hot trend right now and is all about radiant, soft skin. You’ll have the boys falling in love!
