Song of the Week

If there is one thing that I’ve learned in my life, it would be that we all lose our path sometimes. Feeling lost, lonely and sometimes just a bit worthless. Luckily, there is a saying that goes as follows: There is a light at the end of each tunnel, and I truly believe in this. No matter what you did, or what you’ve been through, you will always  bounce back and become a little bit stronger each time. And I know that this is hard to believe when you can’t see what the future holds. I myself am still in this tunnel, not sure when my luck will turn again, but what I do know is that it’s coming! And it is going to be big! The most important thing is to keep moving forward, towards the light, towards the dream, towards the future you…

Innocent – Taylor Swift [Lyrics by metrolyrics.com]

I guess you really did it this time

Left yourself in your warpath

Lost your balance on a tightrope

Lost your mind tryin’ to get it back

Wasn’t it easier in your lunchbox days?

Always a bigger bed to crawl into

Wasn’t it beautiful when you believed in everything

And everybody believed in you?

It’s alright, just wait and see

Your string of lights is still bright to me

Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been

You’re still an innocent, you’re still an innocent

Did some things you can’t speak of

But at night you live it all again

You wouldn’t be shattered on the floor now

If only you had seen what you know now then

Wasn’t it easier in your firefly catchin’ days?

And everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you

Wasn’t it beautiful runnin’ wild ’til you fell asleep

Before the monsters caught up to you?

It’s alright, just wait and see

Your string of lights is still bright to me

Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been

You’re still an innocent

It’s okay, life is a tough crowd

32 and still growin’ up now

Who you are is not what you did

You’re still an innocent

Time turns flames to embers, you’ll have new Septembers

Everyone of us has messed up too

Minds change like the weather, I hope you remember

Today is never too late to be brand new

It’s alright, just wait and see

Your string of lights is still bright to me

Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been

You’re still an innocent

It’s okay, life is a tough crowd

32 and still growin’ up now

Who you are is not what you did

You’re still an innocent, you’re still an innocent

Lost your balance on a tightrope

It’s never too late to get it back…

Song of the week

Well, I don’ know how you feel my fellow BFF’s, but for me, nothing in the entire world beats the feeling of dancing! Even when you can’t dance and just move your body like an idiot! You know it! I believe every girl dances in her room every once in a while. It is what makes us happy and lifts our spirits when we need it [or in some cases, it just takes us over the “happy edge” when we’re in love]. So grab a partner and stare into his eyes singing: I just want you to dance with me tonight!

Dance With Me Tonight lyrics [elyrics.net]

Ladies and Gentlemen we’ve got a special treat for tonight,

I’m gonna call my friend Olly up here to sing to you ladies,

Olly!

Let’s go man

My name is Olly, nice to meet you, can I tell you baby,

Look around there’s a whole lot of pretty ladies,

But none like you, you shine so bright, yeah.

I was wondering if you and me could spend a minute,

On the floor up and close getting lost in it,

I won’t give up without a fight.

I just wanna, ooh, oh baby,

I just want you to dance with me tonight,

So come on, ooh, oh baby,

I just want you to dance with me tonight.

We’re getting sweaty, hot and heavy in the crowd now,

Loosen up and let your hands go down, down,

Go with it girl, yeah just close your eyes, yeah.

I feel the music moving through your body,

Looking at you I can tell you want me,

Don’t stop keep going till the morning light, yeah.

When I saw you there,

Sitting all alone in the dark acting like you didn’t have a care,

I knew back then, that you’d be mine, and we’d be dancing the whole damn night now,

Ooh, oh baby, I just want you to dance with me tonight,

So come on, ooh, oh baby,

I just want you to dance with me tonight.

Break it down now, shake it like that, now bring it all back,

To dance with me tonight,

One more time, one more time, come on now.

Do your thing, everybody sing,

I just want you to dance with me tonight, yeah

I just wanna, ooh, oh baby,

I just want you to dance with me tonight

Ooh, just close your eyes, we can dance all through the night

I just want you to dance with me tonight,

And everybody sing, girl just close your eyes

We can dance all through the night

I just want you to dance with me tonight

So come on, just close your eyes,

We can dance all through the night

I just want you to dance with me tonight

Song of the week…

Music is one of my favourite things in the world. It’s funny how there is always a song you can relate to, as if you have written it yourself. Music is a way of life, it tells us about past experiences, messages or feelings we can’t express otherwise.

So my little present for you is to find a song of the week, every week. To take off, I chose a song by Taylor Swift. It is called Better than Revenge and is about a girl who stole her boyfriend. I think this is something we all can relate to whether the person achieved it or didn’t even get close.

Here is the lyrics and a website where you can listen to it. Sing it at the top of your lungs and show that who you are and where you are now, is better than revenge!

Better Than Revenge [Lyrics by elyrics.net]

Now go stand in the corner
And think about what you did
Ha, time for a little revenge

The story starts when it was hot and it was summer
And I had it all, I had him right there where I wanted him
She came along, got him alone, and let’s hear the applause
She took him faster than you can say sabotage

I never saw it coming, wouldn’t have suspected it
I underestimated just who I was dealing with
She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum
She underestimated just who she was stealing from

She’s not a saint, and she’s not what you think
She’s an actress, whoa
She’s better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa

Soon she’s gonna find stealing other people’s toys
On the playground won’t make you many friends
She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

She lives her life like it’s a party and she’s on the list
She looks at me like I’m a trend and she’s so over it
I think her ever present frown is a little troubling
She thinks I’m psycho ’cause I like to rhyme her name with things but

Sophistication isn’t what you wear or who you know
Or pushing people down to get you where you wanna go
Oh, they didn’t teach you that in prep school, so it’s up to me
But no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity

She’s not a saint, and she’s not what you think
She’s an actress, whoa
She’s better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa

Soon she’s gonna find stealing other people’s toys
On the playground won’t make you many friends
She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

I’m just another thing for you to roll your eyes at, honey
You might have him, but haven’t you heard?
I’m just another thing for you to roll your eyes at, honey
You might have him, but I always get the last word

She’s not a saint, and she’s not what you think
She’s an actress, whoa
She’s better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa

Soon she’s gonna find stealing other people’s toys
On the playground won’t make you many friends
She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge, ha

And do you still feel like you know what you’re doing?
‘Cause I don’t think you do, oh
Do you still feel like you know what you’re doing?
I don’t think you do, I don’t think you do

Let’s hear the applause
C’mon show me how much better you are
See you deserve some applause
‘Cause you’re so much better
She took him faster than you can say sabotage
